Seascape Family Aquatic Centre
"When the days are getting hot it’s nice to have a place to go splash in cool water for a little bit. Hoffman Estates has that special place too. In Seascape Family Aquatic Centre you can find many interesting attractions for children of all ages, as well as for adults. Some of them are the Diving Area, for the brave jumpers; Sand Play Area, where you can build sand castles like on a real beach; Zero Depth Entry, perfect for toddlers; water slides, of course, as well as the Volleyball Course. There’s also a snack bar to get a quick bite or a refreshing drink. If you’re worried about the weather, during the season you can call the pool and find out any updates."
Rolling Knolls Forest Preserve
Just 15 minutes outside of Hoffman Estates lies a very interesting Forest Preserve. It’s full of green trees and fresh grass that gives a feeling of being in the wilderness, far away from any city. It’s a perfect opportunity for a nice family picnic or a getaway with friends that can include ball games and some good food. They also organize fun events like archery events or the Nature Discovery Day, where kids, teens, and adults can gather together play and discover nature.
Sears Centre Area
Every sports fan should put Sears Centre Area on their to-do list while visiting Hoffman Estates. That huge sports arena hosts football, hockey, lacrosse and soccer games, but not only because it’s also a home to many concerts and theater shows. During concerts and theater shows, it can sit up to 6,000 visitors and for the sports events, almost 10,000 visitors.
Crabtree Nature Center
Crabtree Nature Center lies in the northwest part of Cook County, 6 miles (9 kilometers) north from Hoffman Estates. The whole landscape was formed by a moving glacier. Almost 800 hectares (2,000 acres) of woodland and wetland is a perfect stop for migrating birds so you should have a nice opportunity for spotting some interesting species. Also, many of spring flowers cover the land in the season, so it’s a good place to take some amazing photos.
Ned Brown Preserve
Perfect for a full day expedition, this park is full of interesting wild animals, wetlands and hiking trails. Take your family and friends and go explore the nature, either hiking the Busse Woods Loop Trail, biking on a bike path, fishing on the lake, picnicking on the green grass or even model-airplane flying. You should remember that the park is huge and very popular, so you should plan ahead and choose a parking lot that’s close to your destination.
