According to the 2010 census, Kenilworth has a total area of 0.61 square miles (1.58 km2), all land.

Kenilworth Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 2,513 people, 800 households and 699 families residing in the village. The population density was 4,188.3 people per square mile (1,570.6/km2). There were 855 housing units at an average density of 1,425.0 per square mile (534.4/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.4% White, 0.3% African American, 0.1% Native American, 1.3% Asian, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.6% of the population.

There were 800 households, out of which 47.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 79.3% were headed by married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 12.6% were non-families. 11.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.7% were someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.14, and the average family size was 3.41.

"Kenilworth Town Park "

Kenilworth Town Park is situated directly opposite the Kenilworth Cheese Factory, corner Charles and Elizabeth Sts. The park has excellent facilities including a large central toilet block, gas barbeques, garbage bins, drinking bubbler, picnic tables, and a fantastic range of playground equipment for kids of all ages.

"Fig Tree Walk "

Little Yabba Park lies just south of Kenilworth on the highway towards Cambroon. Pull off on either side of the highway to access both sides of this lush, green park area. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Poetry Trail has a spectacular ‘Buttress Root’ sculpture located in the park which is worth a look. Take a moment to read the beautiful poetry inscribed on the surface while listening to the creek ramble over rocks and the birds sing in the trees. The park straddles both sides of Maleny Kenilworth Road with an underpass connecting both sides so there’s no need to cross the highway. Amenities and a picnic area are available and access to Little Yabba Creek can be found along sections of the bank. A short walk across the bridge takes you to Fig Tree Walk, a wheelchair accessible, 1km circuit through the rainforest. In here you’ll find all manner of forest wildlife and an impressive number of Fig trees with enormous buttress roots securing them to the forest floor.

"Artists Cascades "

This walk is part of the Conondale Great Walk and follows Booloomba Creek. You walk through subtropical rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest. There is abundant birdlife along the path as well as goannas and skinks. The cascades is a great place to have a swim after the long walk to get there. You can also take a couple of side tracks along the way to the Strangler Cairn and the gold mine.

Conondale National Park

Conondale National Park is 130 km north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland near the town of Conondale in the south east Queensland bioregion. The park covers an area of 35,648 hectares protecting large areas of subtropical rainforest, woodlands, wet and dry sclerophyll forest including Queensland's tallest tree. The park contains areas of regenerating forest which have been previously logged; areas of forest plantations also border the park. The park is currently managed by the Queensland Government under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. Since the 1860s the Conondale region has been impacted by land clearing for agriculture, mining and logging, today the park is a refuge for many species now rare and threatened. Threatened species such as the plumed frogmouth, giant barred frog, Conondale crayfish, spotted-tailed quoll, Gympie nut and richmond birdwing butterfly have been recorded in the park and are currently targeted for conservation management to mitigate threats to their survival. Species of interest include the southern gastric brooding frog which mysteriously disappeared in 1981 and is presumed extinct
